The Everyday begins with familiar things: a puddle in the street, a deflated balloon after a party, a washing line, a net curtain or a discarded item of clothing. These objects and surfaces hold personal memories, but also shared histories of domestic labour, celebration, class and place. Through casting, printing and material transformation, the work slows down what is usually overlooked, allowing the ephemeral to become permanent. Working-class experience appears here not as deprivation or social realism, but through the rituals, visual codes, pleasures and losses of ordinary life, revealing that the apparently ordinary is anything but.
